WTF? Release Date Set

I finally set the date for the release of my album. So far the feedback I am getting is good. For that I thank God and all those who have supported and encouraged me on this project.
5th June is the date of release. It will be available on SoundCloud and ReverbNation for FREE!
Isn’t that exciting? A whole 100% discount. The reason for this will come out in the following months.
Please look out for a lyric video this week alongside pics and videos of the making of the Ronning video.
Until then keep it One HONDRED!

Let Me Tell You About WTF?

On 2nd February 2017, I got hold of my first album. It was an emotional forty minutes as I listened to every track my partner in sound Ike (AKA Boamah Made It) and I had created over a period of eight months through the studio’s speakers.
The title of the album is WTF? I could get down into what the acronym means but that will defeat the idea behind the album.
It’s not a spoken word album neither is it a rap album. I call it a Ghanaian Hiphop album and leave the album to you when it comes out to conclude on what you think it is.
The album is comprised of twelve tracks. Ten tracks make up the album and the remainder are bonus tracks. The album features no one and had production by Boamah Made It, KaySo Beethoven and myself.
I have so far played the album to a couple of friends and fans and the response has been great. Unfortunately, the album only comes out in June 2017. Until then the plan is to gradually build a fan base via singles of which I will release every month and organize listening sessions to introduce myself to unknown crowds.
Today for instance I have a listening session with my old high school SOS HGIC. Same high school that artists like Manifest and Paapa came from. Manifest was my senior when I came to the school and Paapa I never met during school because he arrived after I left the school.
The listening session is a motivator for me because for the longest time I have been holding what I consider a gem and I am eager to know whether I am the only one that thinks it is so. I want to know whether what I was communicating was received and whether the content and music within are rich enough to become a timeless classic.
Hopefully I shall get these and more to tonight at the session. I will take footage and pictures and will be sharing them out next week or later. Maybe later as next week I will be busy promoting my first single Ronning which comes out Monday 13th February 2017.
For all those who support me, I appreciate it. Your likes, comments and love will enable me to achieve my dream. I cannot do this alone and need you to help make this dream of mine a reality. Look out for more informing WTF? Keep it One HONDRED! this weekend.
PS I am also on ReverbNation now.

The BoBo Song and 2017 Welcome

Welcome to another year. Another opportunity to make hay whilst the sun shines.
Matter of fact, scrap that!
Most of you have never seen hay before. See this year as an opportunity to make happiness, wealth, friendships and anything worthwhile not only when the sun shines, but when night comes as well.
A great lot has been happening since my last blog post. I took a much needed break and I am revitalized to cruise down 2017 in sun glasses and skis down the potholed roads of Ghana and beyond. I am an optimist who believes anything is possible and it’s too early in the year to doubt my dream. I hear change is here, so let’s all be optimists for a change.

The BoBo Song

BoBo & Daddy
BoBo & Daddy

BoBo wishes you all a happy new year. He has grown and is eager to walk before crawling. He is definitely an optimist.
Remember the song I made for him?
Well here it is in audio. You can download for free or stream to listen to it.
It was all done using garage band so audiophiles bear with the quality of the mixing and recording. BoBo features in the song as well so that alone makes the track a must listen.

Well the year has begun. Here is to keeping it One HONDRED!

My Music Distribution Dilemma

I am almost done with my album. One more track to record and some finishing touches and the sound engineer can do what he does best and get the tracks mastered.
It has indeed been a journey of learning but I am so glad I decided to pursue my dream. I however have to start thinking about distribution which is now digital and in some cases involves money.
I really wish Ghana and SoundCloud alone will do it in taking my art to the masses but I don’t think Ghana is there yet. SoundCloud is just a community of music lovers that doesn’t have digital distribution.
So I browse the web for options and I am bombarded with lots of choices. Tune Core, Cd Baby, Loudr, Ditto, Bandcamp and lots more.
(I am supposed to be studying for a paper the next day and here I am studying digital distribution)
My goal as an artist is to give out my first album for free. This is to get my art out there and build a loyal fan base. I want to grow as an artist and without people who love what you do there is no point.
Unfortunately, if I want my music to be available worldwide, I have to pay money.
(So much for charity)
I am still looking through what the best options are. Tune Core looks popular but they charge you an annua rate of $29.99 to upload an album the first year and $49.99 the following years.
I believe I have great stuff to offer the world but thats a lot coming from an independent artist trying to come out.
Bandcamp seems great. They allow you to put your stuff out and get people to listen for free and even contribute towards your album if they feel it is worth it. They however do not distribute globally.
In Ghana I am not even sure as to how to get my stuff to the popular digital music outlets. I pray God provides me with the strength to come out of this journey successful.
I will be settling on a release date soon and will let you know about it. Until then, always keep it One Hondred!
